Interestingly enough, it was a strange yet welcome topic discussed at the shareholders meeting of the Indian Hotels Company Limited which is known for managing the famous portfolio of The Taj Group of Hotels & resorts. A wasted blank page in the annual report and Indian Tea!! “Also at the meeting, a shareholder made a passionate plea for more Indian teas and fewer British varieties at various Taj hotel restaurants…” It is also important to note that Tea is also a major portfolio for the Tata Group (the parent) and this very plea is welcoming from the shareholders who are just voicing the presence of our very own Indian Tea from the origin. I am not sure if the “British varieties” do or do not include Indian Teas, but this very fact is quite noticeable if one is to stay in the upmarket hotels around India. This is an interesting article regarding an unusual Tea Lunch menu and Teas served and aptly named “Sweet tea Lunch”. The menu is appealing and we are sure that the concept will bring about a new age pattern in Tea Culture. Ofcourse ther has been the concept of Afternoon Tea, Evening Tea but this takes it all.
