WHAT IS IN A NAME??
Filed under TeamoodsMay 21Tea in anyother name would taste just as what it does. There are several other beverages that out of choice have relegated their own identity into the background and prefer to be known as tea.
The name of tea has been borrowed so much that in certain parts of Europe, especially West Germany, the word tea does not mean tea, as we know it, anymore. In this country, Camellia Sinesis alone is not called tea. Tea is a name used for any infusion, be it fruit, flower, root or herb. Herbal teas, which are tea only in name as they are infusions not of tea but some other plants, are now being bagged in the same manner as tea bags. Not an ounce of real tea goes into herbal blends but, the high cost of herbs has led some packet makes to examine the possibility of mixing genuine tea with herbs. There are over a hundred varieties of herbal teas on offer in these markets along with genuine tea.Comments Off -
