If you thought that drinking gallons of water was the only way to keep properly hydrated, we have great news!
Filed under Tea NewsSep 27A clinical study from the Tea Advisory Panel (TAP) has proved that a cuppa can be just as good as a glass of water at keeping your body hydrated. Sticking to the recommended four cups of tea per day gives the same quenching effects of water, without there being any negative side effects. According to Dr Catherine Hood from TAP, “It’s vital that humans keeps their fluid levels topped up to avoid dehydration – proper hydration is key to good mental and physical health.”

Why is Tea such a soothing beverage…?
Filed under Tea NewsSep 8The reason why tea is such a soothing beverage is that it contains the amino acid, Theanine. Like all amino acids, Theanine contributes to the body’s growth and development; but it also has been proven to reduce anxiety, promote comfort and produce a general sense of well-being. This is not to test you word power or vocabulary, but I was just wondering if you ever heard of the word ‘Tsiology’. If you did not, you need not worry, for this is not the kind of word they taught you at school. However, i have always found the word a bit intriguing and also evocative. It is anything written about tea. Things like a discourse, summary, or paragraph. And a Tsiologist is one who studies tea. And though this word is not listed in many dictionaries, it is listed on many a tea site and at least one major bottled tea maker also lends the definition above. Interesting, isn’t it? Now while having your cup of tea you can easily impress your friends with your enriched vocabulary. Cheers..
