Singell Tea Garden
May 3The Singell tea garden was planted out in 1861 by Mr. James White just below Kurseong Town. At that time it was the largest tea garden in Darjeeling and was entirely planted out with the original China Variety of Tea plants which are still producing tea even today.
The altitude of the garden ranges from 700mtrs to 1500 mtrs and shares a common boundary with the farmers of Caslleton Tea Garden. The total population livingn on the garden is over 3220 out of which 300 men and 480 women are employed at Singell.
The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (which is now Heritage Status) passes along side the uopper boundary of Singell. The lowest point of the garden meets the Rinchintong River.
The Singell Garden is Organic certified by IMO, Switzerland and naturland Germany.Ă‚
